it all started one week before the actual day on 17th November...
you know the feeling of.. hmmm, counting down?
every day is like a reminder that my 19th birthday is one day nearer..
loves, i had sucha good time.. :) there's so much to think back.. so much memories so dear to hold..
first to start the countdown was Andrew who brought me to Movie - The Game Plan.
man.. you know i'm really not a movie person? every year i watch like once or twice. and there is some years i don't even step into the cinema.
i totally enjoy that heart warming comedy! so much so that i wanna name my daughter (if i'm gonna have any) the same name as the little girl in the movies (if i'm gonna have any) haha totally love her name - Peyton.
and after that it was my favourite steak @ Phin's
a birthday well completed with a gift :)))

mid week - it was date with BF! finally! after months of saying "Dempsey Hill.. Dempsey Hill.. Dempsey Hill" we finally made our way up there aft a good romantic dinner. man, its really romantic ;p
there's a whole lot of restaurants over there, we choose to go to P.S Cafe since its like so highly recommended by people who have been there, all the comments i've been hearing..
on me and Amy's serious opinion, we would think that it is over rated and we both wld agree to give it a 6.5 to 10.well, 5 out of the 6.5 goes to the ambience.. very relaxing, cosy. the way they "bring" you into the place.. the dim lights.. wooden platform that leads u right into the cafe.. a bright glass house that seem too welcoming to walk away from..
its a good way to actually situate the lounge area at the entrance, where u actually see comfortable, sinking-in-sofas upon stepping into the cafe.. it gives guests a really cosy feel..they have an unique position on Dempsey Hill.. facing a stretch of greens.. with cooling breeze.
service is bad though. in fact there isn't much service involved.
service experience :
upon entering the cafe, their service staff asked if we're going for dinner or for desserts. we said "both" but they claimed they are out of dinner tables, therefore we had to take the dessert lounge with lower sofa seats.
we sat down but didn't feel too comfortable.. cos the table consist of one side sofa, and the other side one of us gotta sit on cushion stool. i'm usually not fussy abt seating and all, but it was quite uncomfortable. so we asked the staff if we cld change to the other seat behind us with 2 sides sofa. but she claimed it was reserved for 8pax at 8.15.. when we were there it was already 8pm, so it was justifiable that we can't take that table.
still, it was quite nice of them to bring give us a dinner table in the end (oh i thought they were out of dinner tables?)
water was not refilled through the dinner, we had to asked a few times. anddddd, if u realised there isn't photos of the food served, they didn't allow food photography to be taken. ok perhaps i wld accept that, maybe they are afraid to be copied, but i really don't think its necessary for that policy. since we're in their premises, its respected :) food wasn't that fantastic, my tenderloin was pretty ex.. 38bucks. i ordered medium but its more to well done. i don't see much redness in the meat~ caesar salad was pretty good, i like it! :).. fish & chips seem popular.
well, all that are secondary. the best thing was Amy's company. its been long since we both went out on a date :))))) it was a heart warming night to be sharing so much.. lotsa lame laughters too. hey u guys dunno how lameeee we can get, mayb the rest will knw ;p
thurs of the week! i had a mini celebration with Yang Heng & Glenn. oh well, they lied to me that its just them. when we arrived at Induglz Bistro @ Tan Quee Lan Street ard Bugis, Wei Ching was already there with a strawberry cake all lighted up.. :D i was just chatting with her on msn at work! an hour there.. there she was! i saw a few other empty chairs across the table.. so i knew im expecting a few more of them.. sure enough! Irene came aft work, Feny came shortly after and Huiyee popped by with her sister..
so, all in all 8 of us had dinner altogether. it was alot of catching up with wad we've been doing.. esp glad to see Irene! cos haven't saw her for like months since we left Shatec for attachment. she gave me a mini bouquet of rocher and a lil purple rose in the middle ;) awww and i felt guilty not getting her any cos her bday is one day before mine.. a good excuse is, i didnt knw she was gonna join us for dinner! thank you Irene!
not forgetting Hui Yee who got me a sunflower :D thank you honey! it fits my room so well..
food was good but i guess it ended with a real expensive bill too. thank you guys! i loveeee the menu of food. all are my favourite! and guess wad? i've been thinking of trying Indulgz for a long time :)

FRIDAY - the very usual Family Day, just that the dinner end of with a cake as my birthday celebration :)) with them, you need nothing special. just them, thats all that matters.

17th Nov- the day i'm no longer 18! i think when you're younger, you don't mind counting numbers, but soon enough i'll hate to see numbers jump.. till then, i'm enjoying the good young days :)
started the day of with work :( sounds depressing right? but it wasn't that bad after all! i'll always remember this day outta the whole attachment (though i think i've repeated it many times, i still gotta mention it here) my company operates 5 days a week. but when event is nearing, they will set a saturday as working saturday.. "lucky" enough, that particular working saturday jus gotta be on my birthday!
well, like i've said it wasn't that bad..
#1 : with the great company of bros Yang Heng & Glenn and company's receptionist, Laila, whom we (the interns) will affectionally call - The Union Leader.. treated us all to Mac's Breakfast.. yummm. hot cakes!
#2 : it was only a half-day affair.. so i cld still go back home to sleep my day away knwing i'm gonna have a long night :D
halfway through work, Laila actually called my desk and say she there's something for me at the reception.. without much doubt, i just walked to the recept to take a look.. to the great surprise.. AMY! she appeared right at my office! hahaha.. oh mannn.. i was quite surprised to react much. ahh..
earlier on i was just telling Yang Heng "i will nottttt forgive that Amy.. 12 midnight never call me!! even her mom n sis msg me happy bday greeting.. and her sis says she is still asleep" little did i knw, she was already on her way to my workplace..
she left me with a cup with our faces printed on it and.. a card that reads this small para..
oh man, that left me thinking the whole morning! i knw, everyone loves surprises, me too! but when u tell me u're gonna surprise me.. i hate the feeling of anticipation.. haha, it jussss.. grrr... quite torturing somehow u knw. nevertheless, i still gotta compress all the feelings in me and carry on with the day :)))
went home to sleep my afternoon away. man, it was a drooling good sleep! heh, no alarm, it was raining heavily outside.. i fell right in the middle of my comfy bed and zzzz all the way till evening!
met The Usual Bunch + Huiyee's siblings for dinner at Stadium Waterfront.. VANSH!
an indian restaurant that i've been passing by umpteen times but never did have the chance to try. woooo-lala! just look at the foooodddd. it was really good. best indian food i've ever tried. we are inspired to try Song of India when we have cravings for indian cuisine the next time rd... heh. i heard it has won many awards :)
the cushion floor seats that i especially adore~ :) when we sit altogether on the floor.. u seem much closer to everyone ard the table.. don't u think so?

my first birthday song for the night! :D niceee platter yeah~ something different.. a complete ending to a birthday celebration at an Indian Restaurant.. 
after the hearty dinner, we all sat by the bay for some drinks.. tim had beer, huiyee had cocktails.. me, the RESPONSIBLE DRIVER, kept to Mocktail - Gunner (my all time favourite ever since i started driving) Huiyee's siblings left us..
time was pretty early still, cos we planned to pick Amy at midnight. so we drove down to Esplanade for 2nd round at Harry's bar. i wanted to have Margarita but i can't so i had VIRGIN MARGARITA.. its the same, just that its all been replaced by non-alcoholic liquids -_____-
i felt pathetic when i saw the rest of them sipping their Long Island Tea.. Singapore Sling and some tempting-looking Cocktail. but then, again, i'm a RESPONSIBLE driver :)
it was close to midnight.. at about 11.30, as Yixian, Tim, Huiyee and myself were all chatting away... listening to the band at Harry's. Amy appeared with a surprise frm behind! woooo.. my Tiramisu cake in a cup.. esp made by her :D
its my favourite! Tiramisu! all-time favourite.. :)))) later, she told me she gave to work at 9.30am just to learn frm her kitchen collegues so that she can make this for me.. i appreciate even more.. cos we all knw amy.. to reach work at 9.30 seem like an effortful one! thankkkk youuuu BF!

a while later, amy appeared again.. small talks carried on untill a fateful moment when they exclaimed that they saw THREE gektengs..............

they came by to present yet another TIRAMISU cake for me :))))specially baked by the Yang Brothers :) it touched me further when it was Yang Chiak (an aspiring chef/baker) who remembered me mentioning that my favourite cake is Tira.. Yang Heng came by to ask a few times..asking me wad kinda cake i like the most.. pointing at some cake brochure on my desk..
oh well, the most i cld think of is, for him to BUY me the kinda cake i like..
but they went on with an extra effort.. they baked for me. they baked.
that was not all.. Yixian presented me this handmade doll....

man.. i was in total shocked by den..

this video was recorded a few weeks back, when Yixian, Amy and myself went Kbox for KTV session.. Yang Heng called me and spoke reallyyyyyyy softly till i got a lil frustrated.. that forced me to get outta the room for about 10mins.. that was when Amy and yixian find time to record this song for me :) it was all planned. so well planned!
totally speechless.
after the video.. they let me listen to the same song.. which was pre-recorded and sang by amy.. while searching for the song on the laptop..
remember earlier on when i mentioned Amy disappeared? she actually stole my car key.. earlier on, asked yixian to note down my car park slot number.. went to my car and wanted to put in the CD of the recorded song!! so that when we get to the car.. when i start the engine.. the song will start playing.. :) so much of effort, though the music had some technical problems.. it was all heartfelt..
they accidentally click on the laptop's "start" icon.. den i suddenly saw GLENN'S PHOTO..
i was like "why got glenn's photo?!?!!?"
den they were like "thats not glenn!"
"it ISSSSS glenn!!"
den before i knw it, Glenn appeared!! hahahahahaha so much of "BYEBYEEEEE" aft Harry's Bar!.. went into Huiyee's room and thats where i found Yang Brothers hiding under the blanket! hahahaa. good one. REAL good one.
they actually left Harry's Bar slightly earlier before us, so that they can arrive at Huiyee's place to set up the laptop and get the video up....
to sum up the day of surprises.. Yang Heng screen the movie that i've always wanted to watch but couldn't find time to.. The Secret by Jay Chou, we all gathered around the living area.. watched that bittersweet movie altogether :))))
by the time the movie was over, it was already 4am..
i couldn't bring myself to leave them to take cab home.. decided to drive across the island..
sent Yang brothers back to Woodlands and Glenn back to Thomson..
by the time i return to Huiyee's place, it was already nearing 5am.
along my drive back.. i had so much thoughts in me.. not so much of what happened the whole day.. but every lil thought that contributed to the whole surprises. so many of them.. coming together with just a common thought - me. they had me on their minds.

Amy mentioned.. it was as early as Oct.. when Yang Heng msged her asking what can be done for my birthday..

i don't know how to Thank each and every one of you so rightly that i can express every bit of my emotions. i don't think words can ever describe it well enough. the kinda feeling is overwhelming.. to see the a group of people you love so dearly.. coming together trying to make your day..
Peeps, pardon me, i really can't find the right words to say.
apart from them, there were many that dropped smses, msn msgs, friendster msgs testis.. facebook wall posts. all out there.. i don't wish to name as i'm too afraid to miss out any.. but i remember them all.. a thought to remember and its my smile u've got :) i really did smile at every birthday blessing.
my birthday can't be better. what a 19th birthday :) 21st gotta be a BOMB to be remarkable enough to beat this 19th..
i took the whole sunday to recall the bits n pieces of saturday. it is already the end of monday, but i'm still smiling deep inside. this happiness and bliss in me will be running on for a long timeee..
some say, in life, u just need a true friend. in mine, i've got enough to last a lifetime.
